LAMINATION TECHNOLOGY
What is lamination?
Lamination is a layer of plastic film commonly used as BOPP film with a thickness of 10 -: - 20 microns. There are two types of BOPP film, glossy BOPP film (clear) and translucent BOPP film. To bond between BOPP film and products need to be coated with thin glue layer, also known as lamination film. Typically EVA based glue. The most common lamination film is EVA DA - 102. The purpose of creating a beautiful glossy, waterproof, protect the print surface from scratches.
Film lamination classification
- Lamination of water-based films: BOPP film is coated with EVA DA - 102 liquid glue and then grafted onto the surface of the printing sheet.
- Thermal lamination: BOPP thermal film is a kind of film that has EVA adhesive available. Thermal film has two types, glossy thermal film, translucent thermal film. Thermal film is run through a heat laminating machine, also known as a thermal laminating machine. The laminating machine fuses the glue layer and combines with custom pressure at the same time to laminate the film onto the surface of the printed sheet.
